Title:Peer Support Specialist - Mountain Home

Ozark Guidance is currently seeking a Peer Support Specialist for the Mountain Home office.  Criteria for this position: A high School diploma or GED is required. This position also requires one of the following: 1) A bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or a related field OR 2) Two years of direct client care experience with children and/or adults in a mental health setting. In addition , the candidate must have a minimum of two years of lived experience (knowledge and insight gained by receiving behavioral healthcare/substance abuse services). A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Peer Support is a consumer-centered service provided by individuals who self-identify as someone who has received or is receiving substance abuse/behavioral health services and is thus able to provide expertise not replicated by professional training.  Peer support is a service to work with beneficiaries to provide education, hope, healing, advocacy, self-responsibility, a meaningful role in life and empowerment to reach fullest potential.

Some daytime travel across the counties of Marion, Baxter, Boone and Newton is required. The candidate should have good computer skills, good leadership skills, the ability to organize and prioritize, and be patient, consistent, and flexible, and must be able to work in a team setting and to work independently. Work Hours: Full time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.   No phone calls please
